 Play Clays

Kids Play Clays- Homemade, inexpensive and entertains for hours.

 

Play Clay with cornstarch:

 

1 cup corn starch

2 cups baking soda

1 1 /2 cups water

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 Tablespoon of food coloring

 

1.  Combine all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan.  

2.  Over a medium heat stir constantly until the mixture

     comes to a boil.  Continue to mix until the clay is the

     consistency of mashed potatoes .

3.  Remove from heat, place in a bowl and cover with a

     damp cloth until cool enough to handle.  

4.  Pat and knead until smooth.

 

Do not eat.

You can air dry clay shapes over night.

Store clay in a sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Slime with cornstarch:

 

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup water

food coloring gel

 

Mix all ingredients together and play and have fun.

Play Clay with flour:

 

4 cups flour

1 cup salt

2 tablespoons cream of tartar

4 cups boiling water

2 tablespoon vegetable oil

a few drops of food coloring

 

Combine first 3 ingredients, add remaining ingredients

and mix-when cool enough knead into a uniform dough.

If too dry add more water.
