            GIANT POPOVERS

 

Watch the swirling steam as you break open

these hot popovers, slather on some honey

butter and let it drip all over your hands

while you savor every bite. All too good.

Invest in a popover pan to do it right!!

True popovers rely on eggs and steam for

leavening.

 

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups skim milk

3 eggs

1 1/4 cup flour sifted

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon sugar

2 tsp butter melted

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 

1.   Place all ingredients in a blender, blend for 15 seconds stop and scrape sides and blend for 10 more       seconds.  

2.   Grease popover tin liberally with vegetable shortening, pour batter evenly into popover cups and let         rest for 30 minutes.

 3.  Bake in 450º oven for 15 minutes, do not open the oven door, reduce heat to 350º and bake for 15           minutes  more.  Cut small slits on top to prevent from falling , serve immediately.

        Slather on the honey butter.

 

Honey Butter:

1 stick of softened butter

1/4 cup honey

pinch of salt

 

Whip all 3 ingredients together until smooth.
