Caramelized Sriracha Shrimp

 

Ready in minutes, minimal prep, and packed with flavor, this recipe presents itself well. To keep it simple, serve with some white rice and broccoli. Sweet, hot and spicy,

 

Ingredients:

 

1 lb. fresh large shrimp, cleaned 

4 tablespoons vegetable oil

4 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon honey

2 cloves fresh garlic minced

2 stalks celery, diced small

2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

4 tablespoons catsup

1 teaspoon ginger

2 scallions chopped fine 

pinch of crushed red pepper

salt and grated black pepper to taste

1.  Combine oil, sugar and honey in a saucepan over a medium heat. Occasionally stir and allow mixture to caramelize-        to an amber color (approximately 3-5 minutes).

2.  Add the garlic and saute for 10 seconds more.

3.  Add the shrimp and remaining ingredients, cook for 3 to 5 minutes until cooked thoroughly.
